This five-day hands-on training course provides you with the advanced knowledge, skills, and tools to achieve proficiency in managing and troubleshooting your VMware NSX-T™ data center environment. In this course, you are introduced to the workflows of various networking and security constructs, as well as various operational and troubleshooting tools that help you manage and troubleshoot your NSX-T data center.

Teaching methodology
The course includes educational laboratories in which each student will be able to work in order to complete training exercises that will provide practical experience in using the instrument, for each of the topics covered during the course.

Prerequisites
Before taking this course, you must have completed the VMware NSX-T Data Center: Install, Configure, Manage [V3.0] course .
You should also have the following knowledge:
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP services and protocols.
- Knowledge and work experience of computer networks, including:
– Switching and routing technologies (L2-L3)
– Application delivery and network services (L4-L7) - Knowledge and experience working with VMware vSphere® environments and KVM based environments

By the end of the course, you should be able to achieve the following objectives:
- Use the native tools available in NSX-T Data Center to troubleshoot and troubleshoot your NSX-T Data Center environment.
- Use VMware vRealize® Log Insight™ and VMware vRealize® Network Insight™ to troubleshoot and troubleshoot your NSX-T Data Center environment.
- Explain the NSX-T Data Center infrastructure components and the communications between them.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve the following NSX-T data center issues:
– Infrastructure management, control, data plans, readiness
– Logical switching and logical routing - Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot network security issues related to NSX-T data center gateways and distributed firewalls.
- Identify, analyze and troubleshoot VPN and load balancing services.
- Identify the components and packet flows involved in the NSX-T Data Center datapath and troubleshoot various problems that may occur in the datapath.

3 Troubleshooting the NSX Management Cluster

4 Preparing the infrastructure for troubleshooting

7 Security troubleshooting

8 Troubleshooting load balancers and VPN services
- Examine the load balancer architecture and components

- Review of IPsec and L2 VPN architecture and components
- Identify and troubleshoot common IPsec and L2 VPN problems
9 Data path
- Check and validate packet path on NSX-T datapath (East-West and North-South)
- Identify and capture packets at various points in the data path.
- Use nsxcli to retrieve the configurations involved in the NSX-T data path.
