Configuring and Operating Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop

This course teaches Azure administrators how to plan, provision and manage remote virtual desktop and app experiences, for any device, on Azure. Students will learn through a combination of demonstrations and hands-on exercises how to deploy virtual desktop and app experiences on Azure Virtual Desktop and optimize them for execution in multi-session virtual environments.

Teaching Methodology

The course includes didactic workshops in which each student will be able to work for the purpose of completing formative exercises that will provide hands-on experience in the use of the instrument, for each of the topics covered during the course.

Who should attend

Individuals interested in deploying applications in Azure Virtual Desktop and their optimization to run in multi-session virtual environments. As an Azure Virtual Desktop administrator, you will work closely with Azure administrators and architects, as well as Microsoft 365 administrators. The responsibilities of an Azure Virtual Desktop administrator include planning, deploying, assembling, updating and maintaining the Azure Virtual Desktop infrastructure. Administrators are also responsible for creating session host images, deploying and managing FSLogix, monitoring Azure Virtual Desktop performance, and automating Azure Virtual Desktop management tasks.

Prerequisites

This course assumes previous experience including virtualization, networking, identity, storage, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery. Students should be familiar with local virtual desktop infrastructure technologies as they relate to migration to Azure Virtual Desktop. Students are assumed to have used common tools within the Azure environment, e.g., Azure PowerShell and Cloud Shell.
